Gilibaa Students Perform at NSW Aboriginal Aged Care Forum

In late Term 1, Gilibaa students were honoured to perform a cultural dance at the NSW Aboriginal Aged Care Forum, hosted by Murrook. The forum brought together Aboriginal Elders, community members, and aged care leaders to explore current challenges and practical strategies for improving access to in‑home aged care services for Aboriginal older people.

The students’ performance was a meaningful highlight of the event, celebrating culture, connection, and respect across generations. Their dance contributed to the day’s focus on cultural experiences that deepen understanding and support the delivery of culturally safe and inclusive aged care.

Funded by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, the forum provided an important platform for shared learning and dialogue, and the Gilibaa students’ involvement reflected the strength of community partnership and the importance of young people in honouring and sustaining culture.
