Meet our Director of Aboriginal Education

Gilibaa – ‘The Place of Light’ will be a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students will have the opportunity to develop not just in education but in local Aboriginal culture founded on a Christian ethos. Gilibaa is focused on developing students who will in turn grow families and communities.

Gilibaa will have sound Aboriginal Culture of the Worimi people and surrounding communities. The Gathang language will be central to their days learning, taught by those that have formal study and personal context in Aboriginal languages.

Their education will have cultural content and principles filtered and immersed right through the syllabus.

It’ll be a place where others can learn of Aboriginal education and the principles that first Australians have lived by for millennia. A place of sharing cultures with the broader SPCC family.
