SPCC STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM UON HIGH PERFORMING STUDENTS PROGRAM
In July, we proudly celebrated the graduation of ten outstanding students from Year 9 and 10 who successfully completed the prestigious High Performing Students Program offered by the University of Newcastle. This program is designed to challenge and inspire academically gifted and high performing students by providing them with university-level learning experiences while still in high school.
Throughout Semester One, students were given the unique opportunity to engage in university courses either online or face-to-face. Whether attending lectures in person or participating virtually, each student demonstrated remarkable dedication, resilience, and curiosity.
The program not only enriched their academic knowledge but also fostered critical thinking, independence, and a deeper understanding of tertiary education expectations. Students explored subjects aligned with their interests and strengths, gaining valuable insights into potential future pathways. The program is designed to retain exceptional talent within the Newcastle region by fostering local opportunities. Additionally, students may gain academic credit applicable to future university studies.
Graduating from this program is a significant achievement, and we commend each participant for their commitment and enthusiasm. Their success reflects the strength of our school’s High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) initiatives and the supportive learning environment we strive to cultivate.
We extend our congratulations to our graduates and thank the University of Newcastle for providing such an enriching opportunity. We look forward to seeing how these young scholars continue to grow and thrive in their educational journeys.
