With over 900 staff and 5000 students, the St Philip's family is a rapidly growing network of learning communities which provides whole of life education and care to children from Early Learning through to Tertiary Education.

In all that we do we believe we are called to be leaders in whole of life education and we are continually looking to ways that we can further this endeavour. 

We therefore seek Christians who are professionally and personally committed to bringing their evangelical and Biblically based beliefs, values and practices to this ministry of Christian education, or to their role of supporting this ministry of Christian education. Such people are invited to join the St Philip’s Christian College team.

It is expected that all applicants would:

  1. Be committed Christians, who are practicing members of a local evangelical Christian church;
  2. Be committed to the principles of Christian schooling, including being fully supportive of the Mission Statement, Vision Statements and Core Values of the College;
  3. Be whole-hearted in their support of providing a child-safe community, and expect that this is pro-actively managed in this community;
  4. Can function well as a member of a team, demonstrating a heart for Christian service, corporate spiritual disciplines (e.g. prayer and Bible reflection), initiative and leadership skills within their area of operation; and
  5. Be prepared to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the College, regardless of their normal role within the College.

We have thorough recruitment and induction processes; regular training and in-servicing in Child Protection; and a culture of reporting and disciplining any breaches of the Code of Conduct. By applying for an advertised position you will provide St Philip’s Christian Education Foundation Ltd (SPCE) with personal information. We collect personal information, for example your name and address or information on your resume or CV, in order to assess your application for employment. We may provide your personal information to any School or entity of SPCE for the purposes of recruitment to vacant employment positions. We will not disclose this information to any other individual or organisation without your consent.

You may seek access to your personal information that we hold about you if you are unsuccessful for the position. Preferred candidates for a position within SPCE are required to be subject to background checks. This may involve:

A relevant criminal history check;
A Working With Children Check;
Bankruptcy Register search;
Apprehended Violence Orders Check (Apprehended Domestic Violence Order; or Apprehended Personal Violence Order);
Referee reports; including information about your employment history

Child protection legislation requires that successful applicants undertake a satisfactory Working With Children Check, which is kept on your personnel file for 30 years.

If you provide us with the personal information of others (for example, a referee), we encourage you to inform them that you are disclosing that information to SPCE and why that information is being held. We encourage you to inform them that they can access that information if they wish. SPCE does not disclose that information to third parties.

If you are applying for an advertised position with SPCE, the School or entity will retain your personal information for 12 months and may use it again as part of a candidate pool of applicants that may be contacted for recruitment purposes. After that time, we will destroy all documentation provided to us.
