Music

Music at St Philip's Christian College enriches the whole community and is an activity that most students enjoy. They can be part of a choir, stage or concert band, instrumental ensemble or chapel band. Music is an important core subject in years K-8 and an exciting elective subject for students in year 9-12. All students can also learn an instrument at school.

Music permeates society and plays an important part in life. It is a significant part of every culture. Music is an effective channel for people to express their God-given creativity, to communicate their feelings and emotions and to relate to the world around them. Throughout the scriptures, music is also at the heart of a person’s relationship with God and is an extremely important part of the worship experience. As a result, performing, composing and listening to music, whether secular or religious, has the ability to touch the innermost soul of a person, and bring about a very meaningful experience.
