Thrive Educator Training is the professional learning and educator formation department designed to prepare exceptional Christian educators for a changing early childhood sector.
Through our partnership with International Child Care College (ICCC), trainees are employed within Narnia Early Learning while completing an accredited Early Childhood Education and Care qualification. Alongside their vocational studies, they participate in Captivate, our Christian educator formation program.Â
Our Purpose
To inspire, equip and develop exceptional educators who are committed to excellence in practice, lifelong learning and Christ-centred service.
Our Pillars of Learning
Professional Excellence - Becoming knowledgeable, capable and confident educators. We develop the professional knowledge, skills and practices required to provide exceptional education and care and create meaningful learning experiences for children.
Christian Formation - Allowing faith to shape character, relationships and service. We nurture educators whose Christian faith influences how they see children, build relationships, serve others and contribute to their communities.
Leadership Development - Learning to influence others with humility, courage and wisdom. Leadership is not simply a position. We want educators to develop the confidence and character to encourage others, contribute to teams, mentor colleagues and positively influence their environment.
Reflective Practice and Continuous Growth - Remaining curious, reflective and committed to becoming better. Great educators never stop learning. We encourage educators to reflect on their practice, ask questions, embrace feedback and continually seek better ways to support children and families.
In Partnership with Narnia Early Learning
Thrive Educator Training was established because we recognised the challenges in early childhood education in building a sustainable workforce with exceptional educators.Â
Our trainees are employed with Narnia Early Learning as they study, with strong hands-on training and mentoring from experienced educators.Â
Thrive also creates a strong pathway into employment within Narnia Early Learning, with many trainees continuing their careers within our centres after completing their studies. This means your journey can be the beginning of a career beyond your qualification.Â

Captivate
Captivate sits alongside Certificate III and Diploma learning and provides intentional opportunities for educators to explore what it means to be a Christian educator.
Through Captivate, educators are encouraged to consider:
- How faith shapes the way we see children.
- How spirituality can be nurtured within early childhood.
- How our relationships reflect the character of Christ.
- What it means to serve children and families with compassion, wisdom and integrity.
- How our beliefs influence our practice, leadership and decision-making.
Our aim is not simply to develop competent educators, but educators whose character, faith and professional practice work together.
Your Journey as an Educator
We believe becoming an exceptional educator is a journey rather than a destination. Our learning pathways are designed to support educators at different stages of their development from those taking their first steps into early childhood education through to educators developing their leadership capability.
For educators beginning their professional journey in early childhood education. You will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to provide high-quality education and care while beginning to understand the significance of your role in children's lives.
For educators wanting to deepen their professional knowledge and develop their capacity to lead, influence and contribute to quality practice.
For secondary students interested in discovering early childhood education as a career while gaining practical experience and working towards a nationally recognised qualification. Many of our school-based trainees go on to continue their careers within Narnia Early Learning.
As Thrive Educator Training grows, opportunities will continue to expand beyond initial qualifications into professional learning, mentoring and leadership development for educators across Early and Extended Education and, over time, the broader Christian education community.
