Our Learning Cores

Thoughtfully designed education programs for developing the whole student.

At Saints Academy, our program incorporates a substantial focus on the outdoors and outdoor education which teaches students the skills of “working together as a group, problem-solving in practical ways, leadership, appreciating nature, appreciating our bodies for their power and strength (not just because of how they look), learning organisation and time-management, gaining independence, and developing persistence"
(Melbourne Child Psychology).

Structure

An intentional unhurried focus on learning “possibilities” in the hours after school has led to the development of structured daily elective-style offerings for the children. This importantly allows for student choice each day, whilst also catering for the wide range of God-given gifts, abilities and strengths inherent within each child.

Students will have the opportunity each day to engage in our Learning Cores:

ACTIVE CORE is our sport, physical education, and motor‑skill development program. Physical activity builds coordination, teamwork, and resilience. Through engaging movement experiences, children discover new strengths, learn the value of effort and fair play, and develop perseverance.

ADVENTURE CORE focuses on nature play and outdoor exploration. Time in the natural world sparks curiosity, wonder, and gratitude for the spaces God has blessed us with. As children explore outdoors through hands‑on activities, they develop independence, awareness, and confidence in navigating their environment.

CREATIVITY CORE is our visual arts mixed‑medium program. Creativity gives children a pathway for self‑expression, original thinking, and seeing the world with fresh eyes. When children experiment with different art forms, they build confidence in sharing ideas, patience in bringing concepts to life, and freedom to create boldly.

DISCOVERY CORE is our STEM‑inspired program, including Lego learning. Discovery at Saints Academy means asking big questions, solving real problems, and understanding how things work. Through friendly, hands‑on STEM experiences, children develop critical thinking, creative problem‑solving, and a growth mindset.
