A New Chapter for the SPCC Uniform
At St Philip’s Christian College, our uniform represents more than what our students wear. It reflects our shared identity, our values and the sense of belonging that comes from being part of the SPCC community.
Following several years of planning, we are pleased to introduce our new academic uniform collection, thoughtfully designed to reflect our refreshed organisational brand while delivering greater comfort, flexibility, quality and value for students and families.
Introducing Midford
Following a comprehensive tender process, Midford has been appointed as SPCC’s new uniform partner.
Our selection process considered garment quality, affordability, customer service, ethical sourcing, sustainability and long-term value for families. Midford’s extensive experience in the school uniform sector, together with its focus on product quality and service, made it a strong partner for the next chapter of the SPCC uniform.
Midford is committed to responsible sourcing and fair working conditions across its supply chain. Its suppliers, contractors and business partners are expected to meet standards relating to child labour, minimum wages, workplace conditions, manufacturing processes and quality control.
Supplier manufacturing facilities are regularly visited and assessed, while an independent audit program supports transparency and accountability. As part of the Georges Apparel group, Midford also works with QIMA and applies an Ethical Sourcing Code that establishes minimum ethical standards for the factories used to manufacture its garments.
This focus on ethical sourcing aligns with our desire to provide uniforms that are produced responsibly and designed to deliver lasting quality.
Why We Redesigned the Uniform
The uniform redesign project began as part of a broader journey to bring the SPCC uniform into closer alignment with our refreshed organisational brand.
When the time came to appoint a new uniform supplier, we also had the opportunity to respond to feedback from families and staff about garment quality, consistency, service and the overall uniform purchasing experience.
The redesign was therefore guided by a clear goal: to create a contemporary and distinctive academic uniform that reflects who we are while making the uniform more practical for students and simpler for families.
Every decision was considered through the lens of:

- Quality, durability and long-term value
- Flexibility across changing weather conditions
- Sensory needs and freedom of movement
- A reduced and simplified range of garments
- A strong and unified SPCC identity

Designed in Partnership with Jane Parker
The new SPCC academic uniform was developed with Midford under the creative guidance of acclaimed Australian designer Jane Parker.
As one of the creative forces behind the iconic Country Road brand, Jane helped define an unmistakably Australian approach to design, one that values quality, simplicity and enduring style.
Drawing on decades of experience in fashion design and brand development, Jane worked with Midford and SPCC to create a collection that honours our heritage, tells the story of our students’ journey and reflects the excellence and professionalism of our organisation.
The result is a uniform that is contemporary yet timeless, practical yet distinctive, and designed to serve our students well for many years to come.
The Story Behind the Design
The new collection uses colour, pattern and detail to represent the journey students take from Narnia through to Senior School.
Our new nutmeg-coloured lowers symbolise the connection between our youngest learners and the wider SPCC community. The colour brings together Narnia’s Discover Me Blue and SPCC’s Inner-light Sienna, creating a visual expression of belonging and progression.
In Junior and Middle School, custom-designed check fabrics pay tribute to the College’s heritage. Inspired by elements of the original 1982 uniform, the checks retain details such as khaki tones and distinctive double pockets while presenting them in a fresh and contemporary way.
As students progress through the College, the uniform becomes increasingly refined, culminating in the crisp white shirts, tailored styling and professional appearance of the Senior School collection. This gradual transition reflects the growth and maturity of our students while maintaining a consistent SPCC identity.
Key Features of the New Collection
A flexible, all-season approach
Students will have greater flexibility to dress for the weather rather than the school term. Short- and long-sleeve options, versatile lowers and a coordinated range of outerwear will allow families to choose the combination that best suits their child and the conditions.
Designed for comfort and movement
The collection has been designed with students’ everyday experience in mind. Features such as culottes, adjustable garments and flexible layering provide greater comfort and freedom of movement for learning and play.
Fewer items for families to purchase
By simplifying the uniform range and introducing garments that can be worn throughout the year or carried into the next stage of schooling, the new collection reduces the number of individual items families may need to purchase.
Improved quality and durability
Garments have been selected and designed to withstand the demands of school life. Practical details, including replaceable double-knee patches in selected pants, will help extend the life of key items.
Greater choice and inclusivity
Students will have access to a variety of uniform options, allowing families to select garments that best support comfort, fit, movement and individual needs while maintaining a consistent and polished appearance.
Stronger SPCC identity
The collection brings together our organisational colours, heritage details and distinctive sub-school identities to create a more unified visual expression of SPCC.
Importantly, these improvements have been achieved while maintaining the same retail price point for the new items as the corresponding items in the current collection.
Supporting Families Through the Transition
We understand that introducing a new uniform is a significant change for families. For this reason, the new academic uniform will be introduced through a gradual two-year transition period.
Throughout 2027 and 2028, students may continue to wear their existing approved SPCC uniform while families progressively move to the new collection. The new academic uniform will become the required uniform from the beginning of 2029.
This transition period is designed to:
- Allow families to receive the full value from uniform items they already own
- Reduce the need to replace garments before students have outgrown them
- Give families flexibility to purchase new items gradually
- Support an orderly and well-communicated transition across our colleges
Families will receive further information about ordering, sizing and availability before the new collection is introduced. Uniform roadshows and supporting resources will also provide opportunities to view the garments, feel the fabrics and ask questions.
