We are thrilled to celebrate Beau (Year 5) incredible success in the 2025 Newcastle Permanent Primary School Mathematics Competition.
Now in its 45th year, this long running event drew over 13,000 Year 5 and Year 6 students from more than 200 schools across the Hunter region, all eager to put their problem solving and numeracy skills to the test. The competition took place in the first week of Term 3, giving students an exciting opportunity to showcase their mathematical thinking.
Beau achieved an exceptional result in this year’s competition, placing Second overall among Year 5 students. To put this into perspective, high achievers in the competition represent only 0.3% of all participants—an extraordinary accomplishment!
Beau was invited to attend a special awards ceremony, where he proudly received his certificate recognising this outstanding achievement.
This achievement highlights Beau’s dedication, mathematical creativity, and love of learning. We couldn’t be prouder of the effort and excellence Beau has demonstrated throughout the competition.
We also extend a big congratulations to all our Year 5 and Year 6 students who proudly represented our school in this year’s competition. Well done to each of you for taking on the challenge and giving it your best effort.
Congratulations again, Beau, on this outstanding achievement!
