Meet Andrew Youd

Andrew Youd has dedicated his entire career to the field of education, driven by a strong commitment to innovation and the creation of transformative educational experiences that enable individuals to realise their full potential.

His journey commenced in the tertiary sector, where he served as an Associate Lecturer of Theology and Ethics at Alphacrucis University College. With an aptitude for organisation and operational development, Andrew assumed responsibility for overseeing the Theology department's operations within the Faculty of Theology. This initial endeavor paved the way for his subsequent role as the operational manager of the entire Faculty of Theology. Throughout these positions, Andrew played a pivotal role in developing systems to effectively manage the organization's growth as it evolved into a national provider and the largest Protestant higher education institution in Australia. His contributions encompassed advancements in learning management, faculty management, and the implementation of online learning methodologies.

Andrew then transitioned within the organisation to the Faculty of Education, Arts, Business, and Social Sciences, assuming a dual role as the Regional Director – responsible to co-design and launching Australia's pioneering initial teacher education Teaching School Hub – and the role of Business and Operational Manager for the faculty. After a successful five-year tenure, during which he successfully established the Teaching School, Andrew embraced a national and organisational-wide role as the Director of Faculty Operations. In this capacity, he swiftly implemented enhanced timetabling and staff systems, effectively scaling up operational processes and management to accommodate the organization's anticipated growth in the forthcoming phase.

Andrew then transitioned into the school education sector, assuming dual responsibilities within the St Philip's Christian Education Foundation (SPCEF). He serves as the Business Manager for the St Philip's Teaching School and is engaged in project development for the Central Office. SPCEF comprises six schools, five early learning centers, two after-school care programs, and a Teaching School, catering to over 4,500 students. As a project developer, Andrew has played a pivotal role in securing federal education system accreditation, establishing a cross-organizational Christian Education and Formation committee, facilitating the registration and establishment of the organization's inaugural Aboriginal School, and currently working with the CEO to develop a comprehensive leadership development and succession planning program. Additionally, in his capacity as the Teaching School's Business Manager, Andrew strategically oversees the business operations, working towards its evolution into a national institute and consultancy arm, while also engaging in feasibility planning and the introduction of new tertiary programs.

Andrew is a committed educator with a student-centred and transformative approach to education. He believes in transforming education by creating formative Christian educational communities in which people can become - this can be seen in his continued teaching of theology and ethics within the Teaching School. Andrew's focus on organisational development is driven by a design and strategic approach, incorporating systems thinking, value development, and innovation. He optimizes resources and encourages creativity to foster a dynamic and effective learning organisation and environment. Moreover, he values individuals and ensures a person-centred approach to achieve the organisation's vision and mission.
