Parent Involvement

SPCC Port Stephens has an active PTF (parent, teacher fellowship) Group. It is a great way for parents to stay in touch with what is happening at school, to meet others and get involved.

These meetings are an opportunity to engage on a personal level with the school principal, Mr Telfer, about the projects he is focused on and the progress and challenges the school is facing.

Under the guidance of Mr Telfer, the PTF work to make a difference by supporting the school with initiatives to help build and support the school community and raise funds.

The PTF usually run one activity per term. These activities include the Annual Founders Day Fair, Annual Pie Drive, Mothers Day stall and Fathers Day Breakfast. Funds from these activities are invested back into the school. Examples include using PTF funds to pay for additional play equipment and gym equipment for the Senior School gym.

Whilst the support of PTF members to help run these activities is appreciated, there is no obligation for parents that attend the PTF meetings to take up committee executive positions or volunteer to run activities – just being present at the meetings is warmly welcomed and encouraged.

We would love to see you there.

If you have any questions regarding PTF, please feel free to email me personally.

Best Regards,

Kaila Watson
