This week we get to meet our new College Captains and our Middle and Junior School Captains for 2022. We are so proud of these outstanding students as they lead and serve our student body. Leadership for us is all about our core value of serving others, for our great leader, Jesus Christ, demonstrated that the way to trully express leadership is through a heart of humility. So, we want to train and develop humble leaders, we want to give these students meaningful opportunities and experiences to serve others, through their leadership positions.
This week we took time to remember those who have died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Remembrance Day was also a chance for us to express our gratitude to those who are currently serving in the Defence Forces.
This week was also the start of the HSC exams, and Mr Telfer updates us on some changes to our reports and our end of year celebrations.
Our St Philip's Teaching School students bring so much to our College. We love their enthusiasm, creativity and energy. In this week's Week In Review we hear all about how St Philip's has become a pioneer in the way we educate the teachers of the future.
Today we celebrated our Year 12 students who have come to the end of 13 years of schooling in the most extraordinary way. They have managed to excel in their senior years despite a global pandemic. We are so proud of their grit, determination, patience, adaptability, positivity and compassion. Year 12, we will be praying for you as you undertake your HSC exams and will continue to uphold you as you embark on your first exciting steps into your future
It has been a week of celebration as we started welcoming back our students. Seeing the big smiles on their faces and being together with them in the classroom – it’s the way it's meant to be. Next week we have Middle School and Years 9 & 10 coming back after 9 weeks of remote learning. We can't wait to see them!
This week, in our Week In Review, we hear from our students and staff about what they did and didn't like about Remote Learning and what they like about being back at school.
We also invite you to help us celebrate the 26 years of the Little House. We will say goodbye to this building at the end of the year as it will be replaced by the most amazing new Junior School facility. Before we knock down those 4 walls over summer, we would like to celebrate all of the community life and learning that took place within it. If you have any photos or stories, we would love to hear from you. Please send them to email@example.com
We are all so excited about being able to welcome back our dearly missed students and teachers over the next two weeks. As we come back, put the pyjamas away and the uniform back on, we want you to focus your attention on those around you. Be aware that this isn’t going to be easy for everyone, there may be some who are nervous or others who struggled over the last few months. Lets reach out, reconnect and remember what has got us through all this. It's our family, our friends and our faith in God who promises to be with us every step of the way.
