Providing an enriching and liberating educational experience.
St Philip's Christian College, Port Stephens, was established in 1995 and now has an enrolment of over 800 students from K to 12 located on the beautiful Tomaree peninsula. The mission of the College is to continue to provide quality education in a caring, secure and challenging learning environment based on Christian beliefs, values and practice.
The five core values of the College are Christ First, Serve One Another, Strive for Excellence, Do what is Right and Build Community. The College seeks to acknowledge the potential and uniqueness of each student and aims to provide opportunities for all-round development - intellectual, social, cultural, moral, spiritual and physical. The College is passionate about the pursuit of excellence in all areas of school life, particularly academic achievement, performing arts, sporting events and Christian lifestyle. Curriculum strengths include high academic standards, learning support, gifted and talented, vocational education, innovation in ICT and thinking and information skills. Extra-curricular activities include sport, gala days, music groups, drama performances, academic competitions, camping activities and cultural exchange trips.
Our Performing Arts Centre provides excellent opportunities in the Performing Arts and the College enjoys a stellar record on the sporting field as part of Hunter Region Independent Schools (HRIS).
The introduction of the thinkSMART programme involves the provision of Macbook laptops to each student from year 5 to year 12 and a radically different approach to programme delivery. St Philip's Christian College Port Stephens provides for the educational needs of a diverse range of students. Narnia is our Early Learning Centre which caters for children from 6 months to 5 years old.
In 2023, our Junior School students (K-4) will enjoy our brand new state of the art facilities. Unique to our College is the Middle School (5-8). The Middle School is designed to deliver educational programmes in a way that is tailored to the age group and nurtures both relevance and relationships. The Senior School provides both highly academic courses as well as access to vocational courses and is designed to connect students to pathways for future employment and study. We have a Dynamic Learning College on campus which meets the needs of students with Anxiety, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Autism. In 2024 we are investing in Aboriginal Education, as we open our Gilibaa school. We also run a Saints Academy (before and after school program) which aims to improve wellbeing and allows children to be creative, physically active and connect with the outdoors.
