GRADUATE STORY Introducing Kathleen Williamson – Class of 2009

Kathleen

When I was in Senior School I really wanted to work as a physiotherapist and particularly work with children. When I completed my HSC, I applied to study a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) and was blessed to have the opportunity to study in Sydney and complete my degree in 2013.

I started working in a new graduate position at The Children's Hospital, Westmead, and have been able to continue working in the same place for the last few years. In some ways it feels as though I have only just finished school and in others feels like I was there a long time ago.

When reflecting and looking back there are so many things which have contributed to where I am at the moment. I love my job working as a physiotherapist, helping children and teenagers participate in everyday activities.

One of the best things about school was the genuine care of my teachers who encouraged me to work hard but also keep things in perspective. I really enjoyed my final few years of school and the friendships built and these have continued on many years after finishing school.
