It has been a tremendous end to the school year, with just a few days to go. It always comes with a deep sense of satisfaction when I can see that the students have worked hard and grown so much from where they were at the start of the year.

Congratulations to our newly elected House Captains for 2020. They are Padraic Jones and Lily Mullane (Kingsley), Emilia Chapman and Lucah Reungkitchaya (Birubi), Louis Cotter and Anekah Macklin (Fingal), Torren Cocking and Emily Gambrill (Zenith). The newly appointed house captains officially received their badges at today’s Middle School Awards ceremony.

Speaking of the Awards ceremony, congratulations again to all of the students who received certificates for their efforts at school this year. It’s always great to acknowledge a year’s worth of effort and application!

The Year Eight Graduation on Tuesday evening was a special night. Well done to all of our graduating students! They’ve been a pleasure to work with and learn alongside. We love them and pray that the step into Year Nine (and Senior School in general) will be prosperous for them. Thank you for being such wonderful role models for our Middle School Year Eight! We’ll miss you! Don’t forget to check out the graduation photos on Facebook! Thank you to the parents, carers and staff that have fed into the development of these children over their time in our Middle School. A special ‘shout out’ goes to Mrs Louise Hennessy for her work in preparing the wonderful decorations and organizing so many aspects of the night.

Yesterday’s final Middle School chapel for the year was enormously fun – from wrapping teachers in Christmas wrapping to dancing to ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’. The true meaning of Christmas was well presented and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Middle School families a very happy and safe Christmas. Blessings to you all and I hope that you’ll take the time to reflect on our Saviour that was born all of those years ago, who continues to do miraculous things in our lives!

Blessings,
Mr Glen Urane
Head of Middle School
