What a great start to the new year in Middle School. Thank you to all of our families for entrusting your children to our care at St Philip’s Christian College. The students have proven to be both settled and motivated to begin the new year. It is obvious that they are super keen to do their best and for that I am very grateful. Thank you for all the work that has gone into preparing your children for the new school year. We know that it is a time that is busy and full of excitement. The end result is a wonderful cohort of kids looking smart (especially uniform-wise) and well-equipped for school.

Thanks again to the parents and carers who attended the Stage 3 Parent Information Night on Tuesday. I trust that it was beneficial to you and again invite Stage 4 (Years 7 and 8) parents/carers along to their night on Tuesday 12 February (from 6pm for a BBQ dinner to approximately 7:45pm).

We have an exciting term of activities planned. In particular we have the Year Seven and Year Eight Camps in Week Six and of course the Founder’s Day Fair on Friday 29 March. The wheels are in motion to make these events extra special with a host of new initiatives to look out for.

The WAM Days (Welcome and Mentoring) for Year Seven were quite successful. Many of the students I have spoken to said that the activities were both enjoyable and informative – a great way to get to know the rigours of secondary school study while picking up hints and tips to help prepare for that. Thank you to Mr Mark Costa for running such a wonderful couple of days for the students.

I hope your child is beginning to feel at home with his/her Core class and that they feel a sense of welcome and belonging in their new year group. Please remember that we love to hear feedback – let us know about any news that will help us to better cater for your child’s learning. We deeply appreciate all of the support that we receive from our parent community.

All the best for a wonderful 2019!
