Spcc Fair For Newsletter2019

Welcome to 2019 and what promises to be a big year for both our College and our PTF. As a PTF, we’re busily working on, and looking forward to our upcoming annual Founders Day Fair.

This year, however, we’ve adopted a fresh format, exciting new attractions, and we’re running the event in the evening. Further details will follow shortly on how it will impact on your child and their school day, but for now… grab your diary and lock in Friday 29th March for our Founders Day Fair - TWILIGHT FESTIVAL, from 3-8pm.

Junior School and Middle School are joining forces this year to offer a ‘Side Show Alley’ bigger and better than ever! We might leave you hanging on that though, check back for more of an idea on what these attractions will look like in our next fortnightly newsletter. One thing’s for certain though… Mr Allen and Mr Urane have assured us it’ll be FUN!

We also have the support of our wonderful Senior School staff and students, who will be blessing our younger students by managing our ‘Twilight Theme Park’ for the duration of the event. We haven’t forgotten about entertaining our big kids though – we’ve got a headline act on our ‘Main Stage’ that’s bound to please.

In addition, there’ll be plenty of crowd pleasers; including (for the first time ever) a ‘Food Truck Frenzy’ – we’ve invited a few of our favourite foodies to tantalise your taste buds, an ‘Entertainment Zone’ (proudly sponsored by Shoal Bay Country Club - with a fantastic line-up of musicians and some of our local youth bands), a curated selection of market stalls, the Scholastic Book Fair, and a few of our old favourites including the ever-popular Second Hand Book stall and our mouth-watering BBQ. And, did we mention the evening will finish with a bang (#dadjoke)? That’s right, we’re closing the festivities with a ‘Fireworks Finale’!

But, as we all know, events like this don’t just happen. So, we’ll be calling upon our wonderful pool of volunteers over the coming weeks to assist on the day. We’d love to see some familiar and new faces! And, if you’re new to the College, this is a great way to rub shoulders with other parents and make some new friends along the way. There are some great conversations to be had over an hour of sausage flipping!

Finally, we’re thrilled to have the financial support of some local businesses and look forward to what this fundraising effort will mean for our College and particularly for our (soon to be opened) school gym, in our new Senior School Precinct.
