This year, 2022, St Philip’s Christian College Newcastle is celebrating 40 years of Christian education. During that time, the College has impacted the lives of thousands of students, staff members, and their families.
We are excited to invite you to celebrate this milestone with us, and over the course of the year, our celebrations will include a variety of events of which students, staff, alumni, families and friends of the College can be a part.
40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION DINNER
What a spectacular evening it was at our 40th Anniversary Celebration Dinner on Friday 13th May! Alumni, staff, parents, special guests and members of the SPCC community gathered together to celebrate the 40-year history of the College. Guests were treated to a panel of past and present school captains, video tributes, photo presentations from throughout 40 years, alumni music performances and more! It was also a special opportunity to honour our Executive and Founding Principal, Mr Graeme Irwin, and his wife, Mrs Sue Irwin, and our current Principal, Mrs Pam O’Dea, for their service, dedication and contribution to the College.
SPCC Open Day
Friday 13th May was a wonderful day at our SPCC Open Day! Despite the weather, we had lots of people come and enjoy over 130 'Business in a Box' stalls, live music, food trucks, tours and more. Our students also enjoyed special guest alumni speakers for our inaugural Middle and Senior School Symposiums. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us on this fun day! We are also so grateful for the hard work of so many students and staff who made today such a success!

40th Celebration Service
Friday 4th February was an historic and significant day in the life of the College, as staff, students, alumni, community (past and present), and special guests gathered in person and online to celebrate 40 years of Christian education at St Philip’s Christian College, Newcastle. During the Celebration and Thanksgiving Service, representatives from 40 years of graduating classes participated in a procession as key events from each year were highlighted.
It was also a great privilege to honour our Founding and Executive Principal, Mr Graeme Irwin AM and his family, for their service to the College over 40 years!
40 Year Timeline Ribbon Cutting
In Week 1 Term 1, it was a delight to watch the unveiling of an amazing illustrated 40 year timeline of the College. The timeline includes enrolment figures and key events that have taken place over the last 40 years.
We were privileged to have our Founding and Executive Principal, Mr Graeme Irwin, join our College Principal, Mrs Pam O’Dea as they cut the ribbon together. They are the only two principals who have served in this role in the history of SPCC Newcastle!
Congratulations to the two winners of our Logo competition, Vivienne and Bastian!
Cross-Campus Musical - "The Little Mermaid Jr"
This year, we performed our first-ever Cross-Campus musical! Students from all campuses were invited to participate in the Disney full-length production of "The Little Mermaid Jr". It was an absolutely spectacular show, and a great opportunity for students from across different campuses and different subschools to perform together.
