Pastoral Care and Well Being Support
A key belief of Middle School is that, ‘you can’t teach a child you don’t know’ and therefore student well-being is central to our philosophy.
At the core of this is the homeroom teacher, whose mandate is to build a relationship with the students and parents of their homeroom class. Supported by the well-being team and executive staff, the homeroom teachers are the first ‘port of call’ for well-being needs of students.
Youth Chaplains offer further support to students, and these members of staff can often be found ‘hanging out’ with students in the playground during recess and lunchtime in order to build connections.
