Yesterday was an opportunity to pray for and financially support those who have survived the terrible earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria. Students and staff were encouraged to wear mufti in the colours of the Türkiyen and Syrian flags, contributing a gold coin for the privilege. During our 3 sub-school assemblies, some members of the Year 12 Prefect team gave a presentation to help students better understand the magnitude of what has taken place and how we can continue to support those in need.
At lunch students from across the whole school had the opportunity to enjoy a BBQ lunch to also raise funds and although we are yet to finalise the total amount raised, it looks like it will be over $2,500.
This will go to Samaritan’s Purse who are on the ground in Türkiye and Syria offering medical aid. Please continue to pray for Türkiye and Syria and we thank the whole school community for your support.
