Saints Academy | Innovations in Education - Leader

The St Philip's Christian College group of schools leads the way in Whole of Life Education. At St Philip's Christian College (SPCC), we passionately believe in the need for independent schools which develop the whole child - intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually; schools that maintain high academic and behavioural standards while keeping the truth of the Christian Gospel at its core.

Saints Academy, as part of St Philips Christian Education, is an innovative new program in the after school space where intentional and tailored learning is offered to children as an alternative to traditional after school care options. We offer unhurried learning opportunities for curious children to engage in learning they love, times in nature and a focus on physical fitness, health, well-being and creativity.

We are currently looking to employ a Saints Academy | Innovations in Education - Leader (30 hours per week). Are you an innovator? Have you ever asked the question, “is there a better way of doing things? Have you previously revolutionized teaching programs? This is a unique and exciting opportunity to bring your knowledge and teaching experience to pioneer this new space in future education.

The leader of the program is responsible for:

  • The educational program
  • Creating engaging learning environments
  • Supervision, safety and wellbeing of children
  • Leading and supporting staff
  • Developing relationships with families

Position Selection Criteria

Qualifications

  • Experienced Primary or Secondary teacher or
  • ACECQA approved Diploma-level qualification
  • Desirable to hold a National Police Check (state/territory relevant)
  • First aid qualifications

Experience

  • Experience in a management position and evidence of having provided inspirational and decisive leadership
  • Experience as a classroom teacher
  • Demonstration of initiative and innovation
  • Ability to self-manage and meet timelines
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the: National Quality Standard,
  • Education and Care Services National Regulations,
  • Education and Care Services National Law,
  • Approved Learning Framework

Capabilities

  • Highly-developed communication and personal skills
  • Ability to lead the team in pedagogical matters including program planning and professional development
  • Ability to develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures
  • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite, CCSS systems, Qikkids or similar. Training will be offered)
