Educational Philosophy

The Educational Program is based on the NSW Educational Standards Authority approved pathways to Year 10 Record of School Achievement (RoSA).

Because we work to know our students individually, the teaching programs are adjusted so that students can be taught at their level, and be encouraged to move forward. This is done through consulting with the parent/carer, the student and the teaching team via the IP (Individual Plan).

Our class programs are offered to Years 3 to 12.

Years 9 and 10 are involved in a highly-developed work experience program as their additional subject stream. This has proved to be invaluable as a training ground for post-school preparation.

DALE secondary classes are unusual in one particular way. The teaching and learning structures are focused on consistency in staffing, whereby the teaching teams work across all subjects throughout a student's school year.

The benefits of this structure is that it provides the opportunity for staff to have deeper relationships with each student because they teach them across all KLA's. Our students benefit from the predictability and safety they feel as a result of the reduced number of staff to relate to throughout the week.
