At St Philip’s Christian College DALE, our unique Stage 5 Work Education Program is designed to connect the realm of the classroom with real-life occupational experience. This compulsory subject for all Stage 5 students includes both theory and practical components, required of our Work Education Program.
Over the course of Year 9 and 10, students will experience many hands-on placements that provide opportunities for them to gain understandings of physical working environments, duties and roles of particular occupations and day to day requirements of employment and employers expectations. It also offers a chance to compare their interests and abilities with the requirements of a particular job.
All SPCC DALE Stage 5 students are required to attend their scheduled placements during school term weeks.
Below are our current schedules:
- Waratah – Placements are scheduled every Wednesday
- Cessnock – Placements are scheduled every Thursday
- Gosford – Placements are scheduled every Tuesday
- Port Stephens - Placements are scheduled every Thursday
Please note: Parents/Carers will be advised before any changes are made to these schedules.
If you require any further clarification or explanation regarding the Practical Component of Work Education, please contact your Head of Campus (02) 4949 2929.
