Sometimes it is good to reflect and count our blessings and not take our dearly bought freedoms for granted. “Lest we Forget!”

It was a pleasure to be able to attend the Remembrance Day service at our Wyong Young Parents Campus on Friday. We had staff and students from DALE, Narnia and Young Parents who shared in a brief but poignant service lead by our newly appointed Head of Campus Billy Creanor.

One of the Young mums Brooke was embarrassed because her little boy was calling out ‘mummy, mummy’ during the service. Brooke is an incredibly dedicated student who has overcome so much adversity. She is pictured here working on her Remembrance Day Poster in class with Billy, her teacher and Head of Campus. She is so motivated to make the best of herself and make a better life for her two children. I shared with her that this was exactly the freedom and the future generations for which servicemen and women gave their lives.

It is good to take time to reflect on the incredible privileges that we enjoy in Australia. As I looked around and saw DALE students completing their work experience, DALE staff who were on professional development, Young Parents staff, students and their children and the Narnia staff, I felt it would delight God’s heart to see so many generations from diverse contexts, living together in community and giving honour where honour is due.

Sometimes it is good to reflect and count our blessings and not take our dearly bought freedoms for granted. “Lest we Forget!”
