For the Whole of Their Life.
Principal's Blog - Learning & Growing
Hi! I’m Alison Warran, and I joined St Philip’s Christian College Dynamic Learning at the start of the year as Principal. Before this role, I worked at SPCC Port Stephens main campus.
Over this term, I have spent time at each of our campuses getting to know the staff and students. We will have some opportunities over the next few weeks where I can meet with parents and carers too; each campus will send these dates soon.
Last week our teachers participated in their stage days, where they worked collaboratively with all teachers contributing to lesson plans and resources for their stage. This week, the leadership team spent time together learning about their strengths and how to bring passion and purpose to their leadership. They want to continue to foster a love of learning in their students in a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment.
All staff participated in the regular training with Catherine Gow (Psychologist) on Tuesday afternoon. This evidence-based training diversifies our current toolkit to ensure we have a range of strategies to support our students in achieving their learning goals.
Finally, we believe in 'whole of life' education, which is underpinned by our hope in Christ and knowing that God has a plan and purpose for each of us. As we plan for various activities and learning, this is at the centre that through our students’ time at Dynamic Learning, they will know they are valued and will develop hope for their own futures.
Blessings,
Alison Warran
