A Year of Possibilities
It has been so good to reconnect with the students and staff and enjoy the buzz at the start of the new school year. Students and staff have embraced our theme of possibilities, and there is a strong sense of peace and hope for the future in our school communities.
I want to share with you some of the initiatives we are investing in at both Dynamic Learning & Young Parents to equip and empower our students for possibilities we can’t even imagine! Whether Young Parents or Dynamic Learning students, my hope for all our children is that they will be well-equipped after leaving school to venture into adulthood. I want them to know who they are in God, that He will love, support, and guide them always and that He has unique plans for every one of them.
God is always our source of hope and inspiration as we partner with families, but we also need to be faithful to the resources that God has given us and do our best on the journey. I am excited to share some of the outcomes of many conversations, observations, feedback and prayer from last year. I hope you agree that this can only expand the possibilities we create for our children.
As students become more confident in their basic numeracy and literacy skills, it increases their confidence in so many areas of life. It gives them access to so many more opportunities to learn and grow as learning becomes more accessible and more enjoyable. Qualified Learning Support Assistants deliver intervention programmes, and Specialist Learning Support Teachers work alongside the classroom teachers to tailor education to individual needs. A teacher commented to me that she is already noticing a decrease in the number and frequency of children needing to be outside of the classroom and greater engagement in learning
My hope for all our children is that they will be well-equipped after leaving school to venture into adulthood.
Under Mrs Danielle Crook's leadership, our teachers receive regular and ongoing professional development in programming and assessing to make learning relevant and engaging for our students. We are blessed with incredible teachers who are so motivated to give our children the best opportunities possible. As they meet regularly in teams from across the campuses, they love sharing their creativity in developing resources and learning from each other. The opportunity to explore more and more possibilities in this space is inspiring and exciting.
We have started our 3 x termly sessions with all staff to better understand neurodiversity, with positive feedback after our first session. Admin and support staff also participated in this training since they all regularly interact with our students. The Heads of Campus at both schools and the Social Workers at Young Parents have much-appreciated mentoring meetings with educational psychologist Catherine Gow. Catherine has also made herself available to the Heads of Campus for tailored advice on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to know more, visit

We are also looking to improve our connection with our local Aboriginal Communities. Shaona Folwell, Dynamic Learning College, Billy Creanor, Head of Campus at Young Parents College, Central Coast and myself, attended a course at the AIS earlier this week to develop an authentic Reconciliation Action Plan. We left inspired, encouraged, and excited at the possibilities that connecting authentically and meaningfully around indigenous education will have for all of our communities.
Please pray for our colleges as we follow our passion and purpose to lead and equip our students on their own journey of passion and purpose.
Every Blessing,
Michelle Cairelli
