For the Whole of Their Life.

Head of Senior School

My teaching career started in 1998 as a classroom teacher of Geography and History teaching across all high school year levels. I have been involved in School Leadership for the past 14 years in a range of both established and growing schools, in both the public and private systems across New Zealand and Australia. I am passionate about developing young adults into members of their communities who make quality decisions for their lives and for those they impact upon.

At St Philips Cessnock, the Senior School Years 9-12 are packed full of opportunities, characterised by significant academic and personal growth milestones. During these final years of formal schooling, students are developing a platform for their future through not only rigorous academic endeavor but also through real leadership and service opportunities – all setting students up to make quality decisions for their lives beyond school.

As students progress through the senior years their experience is underpinned by high academic expectations, flexible course structure with multiple learning pathways, optimum class sizes, individualised academic counselling and open communication with families. We see these characteristics of learning as fundamental to a positive learning environment for all students in the Senior School.
