Meet Our Employee of the Month: Laura Main
St Philip’s Christian College Cessnock believes in honouring and uplifting our amazing staff. We don’t want to brag, but we think that we have one of the best teams in the world. Once a month, we run a staff-nominated ‘Employee of the Month’ where staff can nominate two employees who they believe uphold the College values, as well as go above and beyond to make St Philip’s Christian College Cessnock a better place for our community. We are excited to talk to you about one of our Employees of the Month: Laura Main.
Laura’s humility, dedication to her students and endless innovative ideas in relation to agriculture, are just some of the reasons why she has been nominated as Employee of the Month. Originally drawn to St Philip’s Christian College Cessnock, by the 'Christ First' Core Value, we can agree that Laura upholds this in everything that she does.
Laura is currently heading up our agriculture course, and is doing a phenomenal job. She is focused on making the subject the best that it can be, whilst inspiring students to get involved. Her hard work and dedication are not only evident to her team, but is a magnetic pull towards the course for her students. Agriculture is one of our most popular electives. This is because Laura’s joy of the subject is so contagious, that students cannot help but feel engaged and wanting to learn more.
Laura is currently looking forward to introducing a range of new livestock into the College farm this year. In the meantime, she’s enjoying harvesting vegetables and herbs out in the garden — as well as seeing to the numerous other animals that we have in our agriculture area; including but not limited to our very own alpacas, Shetland pony, chickens and sheep!
We are extremely thankful for everything that Laura does for St Philip’s Christian College Cessnock and it’s an honour to announce her as Employee of the Month for March 2021.
