Food Technology explores the culinary world of all thing's food. This course is designed to engage and challenge all students to maximise their individual talents and capabilities for lifelong learning. Students will examine food fundamentals ranging from food trends, catering, nutrition, food presentation and styling and many more. Students will participate in a variety of practical experiences, learning culinary skills and food preparation and cookery techniques. Students will also build knowledge and understanding of food theoretical concepts.

Food is a regular part of our everyday life, yet many people don’t feel confident in preparing exciting and healthy dishes. In this course, students will develop hands-on skills in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes; moving from basic to intermediate techniques. Not only will this subject help students considering Stage 6 Food Technology or Hospitality, it will also provide everyday skills which students can use for the rest of their lives.
