About
Agriculture is an outdoor centred course that delves into the wide world of farming in Australia. Throughout the course, we learn about both animal and plant production. The elective specificity focuses on the husbandry of sheep and cattle and a range of plant topics such as viticulture and pasture management. Upon completion of the course, students will have knowledge about the safe handling of livestock, seasonal considerations in horticulture. In addition, they will be familiar with a range of technology in agriculture applications, including future career opportunities. The course will prepare students for Stage 6 Agriculture and the Primary Industries VET Courses.
Why Would I Choose This Subject?
Agriculture plays a significant role in the Australian economy, as well as supplying many basic necessities which we use to survive. This subject provides an introduction to students to the fundamental elements of agricultural production. Students will be introduced to the current and emerging agricultural processes and technology and develop an understanding of, and skills in, the management of plant and animal enterprises.
