Most young people who leave school early are seriously disadvantaged in today’s society. Many also go on to become marginalised and disconnected from their communities.

It is vital therefore that we can ensure that young people with high support needs have access to suitable educational opportunities. For them, school often represents failure and conflict and many struggle to participate in a formal education setting. Many also face multiple and complex issues in their lives that limit their ability to succeed in education. For them new approaches to education are required. The D.A.L.E Program offers such an alternative approach.
